Default F250 shocks and coils under stock ranger???

Looking for a cheap alternative to get a few inches of lift on my 88 extended cab.

I have a 79 F250 gutted out but with axles under it. (Already have plans to use those full sized D60 and 44 in the future ) Would the coils and leafs even mount up under my ranger to the TTB and 7.5 rear? And even if they did work, would they be too stiff of a ride for my lightweight truck?

Also, if I can use them, what type of lift would they actually give me? Need to know in order to buy aftermarket shocks.

Thanks, and don't be afraid to tell me that this is a bad idea... I'm just thinking with my wallet again.

subscribed! i'm interested in hearing what the pros have to say on this!
I'm gonna say that the rear leafs are gonna be too long, but nothing a cutting torch & welder can't fix. i'm not sure you wouldn't be better off adding a leaf and taller shackles for the rear. plus some strokier shocks... not sure if shocks form that old truck are gonna work for you. would take a tape measure & some research on your part.

on the front, i'd be worried about two things (not knowing the spring dimensions) before even considering if the spring rate would kill you in the cab lol!

1. do you need new cups/perches for the new (to you) springs, and

2. are you putting these springs under the front end of a TTB ranger? if they're too tall, you may end up with this lol:

Did some research on other forums and I am realizing that this suspension set up would be WAY to stiff for what I want. I would have no flex at all and the entire cab would constantly stay parallel to the axles.

Also, I am worried that I will get that bronco's look haha but who needs alignment at 5 mph cruising in the mountains right?

I'll probably just break down and buy the $600 Duff lift kit, it is exactly what i want and for a reasonable price... might as well not cut corners here

that sounds like a smart move to me! but it's still fun to contemplate swapping around parts like that though lol

My question after research of my own at all of the dana setups is did you look at all the pros and cons of each axle setup? Like the WEIGHT behind a D60 by chance? Going from a 174 +/- lb axle to something near almost 400lbs severely hampers the vehicles abilities too.

Whats the overall plans for use?
