I had a '98 expo with the sohc 4L and that truck had some get up and could pull... My setup will still burn the tires from startup but gearing is way wonky. Sounds like it's bogging.
OHV so pushrod, it was on 225/70/14 stock, automatic. and your '98 would be an SOHC most likely. that's a difference of roughly 50hp

EDIT: Also you have a 5speed, you can burn any tires you want haha

The '98 was the devil sohc, before they fixed them in '01 (?), with the timing chain tensioner issues. Made really good power.
