Default Amount of turns needed for a torsion bar crank?

So I know there are tons of threads on the subject for torsion bar cranking, but I haven't seen any threads or posts that technically specify the amount of turns needed to get X amount of lift out of cranking the bars. I think I've heard some people say 2 full turns is what you usually need to turn. Pretty much I want to level out the front fenders to be as close to the rear fenders as I can. Any idea how many turns I'd need, or how many inches of lift that'd give me?

This all depends on the condition of your bars. Its hard to say X turns = X inches. Grab a tape measure and do it that way. Take a measurement on each side before then crank your bars take another measurement. Measure the same places and adjust.

Don't forget to get an alignment afterwards.

^^^.

Different bars have different spring rates, different amounts of wear, etc.

Bust out the tape measure, measure your starting points, and keep adjusting the bars till you get what you want. Be sure to measure in the same place every time.

Also, the bars will settle in a little bit, so drive it around the block and re-measure before you put the tools away.

Default Re: Amount of turns needed for a torsion bar crank?

Well the truck has quite a few miles on it (~175k) and it's an 06. I know the later models, I think around 2010, had more front rake and would need more cranks. I guess I'll just have to play around with the cranks, as well as how much difference there is between the front and rear fenders.
