Small lift
Ok, guys. I've got another question for you. So, I am thinking of lifting my front end 3" and my rear end 1 to 2". I am going extremely cheap, so I am thinking of going with 3" coil spacers up front and 1 to 2" blocks on the rear. If I go with coil spacers, will there be anything else I need to keep the front end from completely destroying itself 😂😂? Will I be overextending the stock shocks? I have heard of people running lift springs, but I do need to get spindles, etc. to get those to work with my truck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again, jd001.

You'll defiantly be over extending the stock shocks, if i were you I'd save up a little bit and get proper lift spindles, I had just 2" coil spacers and it made it ride like complete garbage with not much down travel left at all for bumps etc
For the rear you can do blocks but I'd recommend either extended shackles(better droop), Explorer leafs(better payload) or an add a leaf(again better payload). With that being said nothing is really wrong with blocks especially just 1-2" ones but be careful with aluminum ones as I've heard of them warping and getting pretty messed up, get oem 4x4 ones or iron for strength

Let me know which way you go. I'm in a similar boat, just bought Supream Suspensions short add a leaf for 2" lift in rear....I'll let ya know what they end up like b/c they cheap at 89$

Yeah, that's what I was worried about lol. Do you guys have any links to good lift spindles that don't cost a ton of $$$?

That'd be great. I will probably just go with blocks for the rear since I don't haul a ton of stuff. I'll definitely put on here what I go with for the front end.

One other question though, if I did go with the spacers, what bilsteins would be the best option. I'm not wanting to do a bunch of real off-roading, just want the look. Also, would the bilsteins work for the front and rear suspension?

This should help, I'm running the same spindles/shackles with bilsteins and I love it, I have the stock length 4600 series up front and extended 5100 series in the rear and its great

Agreed, I run the Daystar ones because they werent aluminum and although on the street and the aesthetics are keen, on corrugated roads even aired down you'll swear your going to pass a kidney through your colon. and for the next quote below...

Your factory shocks are set up for on road manners and are stiffer, hence the rough ride. If you're not regular with your bowel movements, by all means.. keep factory shocks in place, otherwise for off-road purposes the aftermarket shocks are designed to either be softer because of suspension changes, larger tires, rougher environment usage etc.. and or adjustable in ranges for best of both worlds like Fox, King, and Bilstien all offer these.
You can get away with stock shocks for a little bit until you find out what the proper variables are for droop and full compression and then order the shocks that meat those requirements. Usually compression is a little easier to do by just measuring from eye bolt center to eye bolt center or stem base and then subtracting the bump stop height minus 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch as they compress too. Thanks for the link, I'll post what I go with whenever something actually gets done. I'm currently repairing and repainting the grille, valence and bumper.

I'm going to take off the front bumper and work on prep and paint this weekend. Valence will be plasti dipped this weekend also. Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll probably go with the bilsteins for sure, my shocks have over 300,000 miles on them to start with (stock) so I should probably get new shocks anyway.
