Default Can I achieve 2in lift with just new coils?

I need to level my 09 2wd xl. Ive only got 31s on it, but the front end sits a little lower than the back. Ive read all about spindles and coil spacers and full blown kits. But, since I don't have torsion bars, and since I don't want 3 or 4 inches of lift provided by spindles, can I simply add 2 inch lift coils only? or would my shocks be too extended?

Yes you can get just lift coils that will give 2" to level it but they will extend your shocks and put your control arms and balljoints at bad angles causing premature wear and often a rough ride since you won't have much travel left. Best bet would be spend the extra $$ on lift spindles

ok I see, but spindles are more lift than I really want. Im just looking to level the front end, but ive heard bad things about spacers. and if were to get 3in spindles on the front, wouldn't I need to replace the shocks too?

also, when I search for lift/leveling kits, I see so many different combos. Some have Coils and shackles, some have spindles and shackles. Some have Shocks, spindles, and shackles or blocks, some have Shocks, coils, and shackles or blocks. The rear end isn't an issue for me, I understand the difference between shackles or blocks, its pretty straight forward. But, Im having trouble making a decision on the front end. If I were to get one of these kits that has just coils, or just shocks, or just spindles, wouldn't the other part that was left out be holding it back? For example If I were to get just a shock lift, wouldn't the coils be fully extended, and same for the other way around. And Ive heard different things about the spindle lifts, but that WNP 4in spindle w/ 2in shackles looks like a good deal, but 4 inches seems like a lot of lift in the front, would I need to replace everything else up front as well?

Nope.

The shock mounting points don't change.

Alright thanks. What kind of bilstein shocks? and do you have those shocks front and rear? Also with the 4 inch spindle up front, would I have to do blocks as well as shackles in the back or would the 2 inch shackles be enough. The kit just comes with the 4in spindle up front and 2in shackles for the back. I like the price and it would be easy to install, I just wasn't sure if I was gonna need to change all shocks too.

What logan said haha, i wasn't sure if my front shocks were worn out really but i thought why not just replace when all apart anyway.

Yes in my opinion you'll need more then just the shackles in the rear otherwise you'll have a little bit of squat

Running coils. No ragrets.

Edit: As well as stock shocks. No ragrets. Not even one letter.

This is also VERY true and unaccounted for in my response. Spindles or nah.

The spindles don't even look like much lift. OP we all recommend spindles because it's less wear and tear on the truck, it rides the same as stock and it's easier to install.

If you're unsure you you feel about it, take a floor jack and a tape measure and jack the truck up and stand back a little and look at it.

Thanks again guys. I know there is a ton on this forum already about it, but I appreciate your responses. I was worried that the spindle lifts available would be too much lift for the 31s, but if you say they don't look like that much lift, then I think that's what I will do. the spindle installation doesn't seem hard.

Personally I don't think it's bad. Mine has 4" spindle, 2" coils and 32's.
