Default How is my truck lifted?

I bought a used 1996 Ford Ranger, 4.0, 4wd, manual... nice truck in good shape. It has 32" tires and has been lifted 2 inches.

The guy I bought it from didn't do the lift, just bought it because it looked cool. He sold it because he needed a bigger truck. So he couldn't tell me anything about the suspension upgrades.

My question is this: how do I identify what was done to lift the truck? Can I spot any added gear or parts that would tell me how it was lifted? Is it a body lift or a suspension lift? How can I tell?

Thanks, I'm just trying to learn as much as I can about my truck.

Joe

Take a look under the truck, if you see "pucks" below the body, then it'll be a body lift.

32's don't really need much of a lift to fit, so its likely its just a Torsion Bar crank (Something that doesn't require any additional aftermarket parts)

x2

Random example of the spacers provided via "Google Images":

1996 Rangers don't have torsion bars.

without more information, cannot say. look at different lift kits available for your year (in 98 they changed to different suspension setup I think, I believe 96 still has the ibeam up front). and then crawl under your truck and look and see if anything matches up.

I'm guessing it's just a coil spacer kit. 1983-1997 have beams which use pucks under the coils, or a drop bracket kit with longer coils, and of course the famous body lift. One of those three.

However, pictures will help out the most.
