Question Is it dangerous to just replace my coils to get lift I need?

Are there any reasons why it wold be bad for me to just get bigger coil springs for the front of my truck so I can fit slightly bigger tires? And if I do that is there anyway to also lift the rear so it's not uneven. P.S if I replace that should I also replace the shock absorbers?

Nothing wrong with replacing the coils, many many 2WD owners have lift coils. Fabtech, Camburg and Maxtrac make lift coils for your Ranger.

Yes you do need longer shocks. The stock shocks are too short.

However before you submit yourself to the labor intensive job replacing the coil springs, a simple spindle lift is just a tad more on price, and it doesn't change the ride quality or geometry of your suspension. It also gives you an opportunity to replace your rotors and bearings since those parts will be removed and transferred for the lift anyways. Spindles are hands-down the "best" lift for a 2WD.

Spindle lift you can keep your stock shocks.

Maxtrac sells spindles for about 300
Maxtrac coils $165
Camburg coils $250
Fabtech coils $147

+ New shocks and alignment ~ $200

How intensive would the labor for the spindle lift be? And would that lift make the truck uneven if I don't do something to the rear suspension? If so what would you recommend for rear suspension lift?

Spindle lifts are much easier to install. There's a walk through guide here on the forum. It's pretty straight forward.

The back is 2" taller than the rear from factory so with a 4" front lift you would need the back to lift up 2" to be level. Most go for a level look but if you want the back higher then you probably want to go 4" in the rear.

Belltech 6400 shackles are very commonly used. That or a 2.5" Ranger 4x4 lift block
