So i was going down the road yesterday and my tire pasted by me for the first time and it was not pretty. i was going about 20mph and it just all of a sudden happened. it could have been a lot worse if i was on the highway. it was caused buy my spindle lift on my truck. it just sheered right off, could have been fractured and then just gave. or just from wear but it was only on the truck for only 2 years.

The spindle lift that was on it was Fab-tech, i did not offroad at all. (pavement princess)


I am wanting to know what brand i should go with Mactrac or Doetsch??, or even a different brand. I want more than anything is safety. i want yalls advice on which i should go with.

I actually broke one WNP and two Maxtrac spindles. I want to know why the fuck this keeps happening. This morning in class my buddy called me freaking out. His spindle snapped right off just like mine did. He's on 32's.

The reason they snap is due to a force of physics known as cyclic loading. It actually does fracture from having too much load on the outboard side of the outer bearing. Slowly bends over time until it reaches a neutral point along the cross section of the snout where the snout can't hold the weight of the truck and it cuts clean off.

On the contrary to the others above I am running the WheelsNParts (WnP, essentially the same as the Maxtrac) for 3 years with no issues. Half of that time was on 33's, the other half on 35's. I have beat on these off road with the 35's and have not had anything negative happen. After reading this thread I may pull my front wheels off this weekend and take a look just to be sure.

It is important to know that I do not daily drive my truck and maybe put 12k miles on it during that time.

Hopefully this doesnt happen with doetsch spindles. mine are in the mail right now. and i didnt have any brand options given my trucks specs.
