Default level my level 2

i have an 05 level 2. i'm duo for tires, i have the 31" bfg's now. thinking of getting 32's. i know i can put them on now no problems but i would like my truck to sit a few inches higher. i don't want a body lift and i'll wait for more than one company to make a suspension lift before i consider buying one.
i've been considering a leveling kit but heard bad things about them. any ideas of what i can do to get a few inches without making my ride too stiff. whatever i do i will be replacing my shocks at the same time. thanks

dude....search. This is about the most common question ever posted here. Check the threads at the very top of the section...they're called sticky's.

And just so you know....there's 3 suspension lift kits that were made for your truck(4", 4", 5").... only one is still in production and it's the highest quality kit. The 4" Superlift. You're SOL on your plan to "wait til more than one company makes lifts". It ain't gonna happen.

have been searching....alot. the more i read the more confusing it gets. Please excuse my ignorance, i never had any automotive interests until after i got my ranger. so i'm starting alittle late in life. did read the sticky though. it seems like torsion keys are out, don't want to put that much wear on my truck. so can i simply crank the t-bar to get level or close to level. or is there a better way.

Crank your bars.... there's a how-to in the how-to section and tons of threads regarding the subject. That'll get you approx 1.5"-2" of lift up front and level the truck out. May not be totally completely level, but will make the truck look ALOT better. A good starting point is cranking the adjustment bolt 4 total rotations and leaving it as that.

32's fit just fine stock. I suggest for a big change in appearence on the truck, replace those awfully sucked in 7" Alcoa wheels and go for a 15x8" wheel with 3.25-4" backspace. Head over to 4wheelparts.com for specs or the manufacturer's website itself for the specs. Look around here for ideas of wheels you like....TONS of different wheels on TONS of different trucks will give you TONS of ideas.

Don't worry about worrying about getting longer shocks. Stock length shocks is all that's needed as it acts as a limit for down travel.

And for my a-hole post above about you having difficulty searching, I give you a gift. The gift of 32x11.50's on 15x8" wheels w/ 4" backspace.....my truck circa '06...

i've always loved the alcoas and never considered getting rid of them. But your right, those other wheels really make a big difference.

1" more wheel, 1" more sticking out = 2" or so more sticking outward = ALOT of difference. That was and is always my biggest disgust in those Aloca's everyone thinks are gold: they do me no good at all. 1: I'd never run a 12.50 on 'em 2: they're sucked wayyyyyyyy the eff in.

*disclaimer: i'm only speaking of the Ford Aloca's found on LII Rangers... Not of the other aftermarket offerings from aloca that look the same as the ford ones, but are actually of use because of the width and backspace options. What I'm trying to say is that you can get the same exact wheel from Alcoa, but with better width and backspacing options.
