Default What are good lift kits for the rangers?

I have a 2011 ford ranger with torsion bars, I'm looking to get her lifted about 4 or 5 inches. I'm just trying to figure out what you guys are running and how much it cost you. I'm located in Vancouver BC if anyone on here knows some good shops that could sell a suspension kit.

Since you are 4WD - you only have the following general options when it comes to lifting your truck:
  1. 1"-2" Torsion Bar Crank = Cost is only an alignment.
  2. 2" Leveling Kit (AKA - Torsion Keys) = Waste of money, same as a torsion bar crank - see option #1 above.
  3. 3" Body Lift (Performance Accessories or Summit Brand) = +/- $200 + Install
  4. 4" Superlift = +/- $2,000 + Install
  5. Custom SAS = "Let your imagination take control of your wallet"
Pick your poison.

If you don't think the torsion bar crank will get you where you want to be & don't want to spend the $$$ for a Superlift - then slap on a body lift with larger tires & call it day - that's what the majority do.

Rear is the simple part....shackles, AAL or new leaf springs are the "popular" choices.

Haha I have that one saved in my notes too.

Just one question, is he ACTUALLY 4WD?

I already have added leaf springs and installed torsion keys, I'm not getting the clearance that I want. Cheapest way ain't always the best. And yes it is 4x4 I wouldn't put money into a 2wd truck

You obviously have never been to California.
I've seen some built ass prerunners that would walk over your little 4WD Ranger. Haha

But as stated above, the super lift is your only option, unfortunately.

That, or buy a 2WD

Throw money at any vehicle and it will do what you want bud, why buy a 2wd? If your going to be mudding and trailing.

That's true man. All depends on what you want to do.

The majority just want a good 3-5 inch lift and throw some 33's on it, however that would cost you 5x the price.

$$$$$uperlift

More than likely, superlift. ...but with a shit ton of luck you may stumble upon an rcd kit....it's been known to happen..

The rcd takes out the torsion bar setup and replaces the suspension with coilovers. The ride on my truck now is night and day. The superlift keeps the torsion bars and just drops them down. Not knocking the suoerlift. I just like the aesthetics of the rcd better. I really do like it a lot. The problem is finding one. They have been out if production for quite a while. When I popped up here a few months ago it surprised people. It was also very expensive. A little more than a superlift and a lot more than a body lift. I didn't mind though, it's what I wanted
