Thumbs down Rear blocks with 3'' spindle lift

Hey guys! I recently did a 3'' spindle lift on my 2002 ford ( 4x2, 3.0L) and I was suprised on how much 3'' in the front did! I I was just looking to level out the nose and maybe have the front sit a bit higher. What size blocks should I use to tone it down a bit? I have no other suspension modifications. I was thinking about getting 2'' rear blocks but I fear this will bring the nose down too much. Can anyone give their advice/insight. Thanks - Josh

That looks great Justin, That's a 2'' shackle right? Does your truck look pretty level?

That shackle had 2 positions for lift...I would say it was around 2" on the highest setting though. Easy to install v. a block or an AAL. If I were to do it again I would just get the shackle. As combined with the AAL, the back sat a little higher.

That looks great. I recently raised mine (2010) but went cheap and used coil spacers and shackles. I like the look but not the ride (front got stiff), so I will be removing it this weekend to be later replaced with spindles. However, I have those same shackles you do with 2 mounting points and I was going to sell them but now I think I will keep them and use the 2" mount once I get some spindles. Quick question...Did you guys need an alignment after replacing the spindles? I mean did they actually have to align it again or did you just get it checked and it turned out good?

i had new wheels and tires with the spindles, so it came with an alignment.

Spindles will retain your stock ride, you will definitely like them better than the coil spacers. may want to get some EDGE/4x4 OEM shocks for the rear since you are changing the length of the suspension in back.

yeah, you need an alignment after the spindle lift forsure. Also does anyone know if I put 2'' blocks in the rear will I need to get new shocks also?

i would get new shocks, yours will be over extended. you will also need new u-bolts as you will not have enough thread to get around the blocks, that is another reason to go with the shackle.
