Default Practicality of lifting your ranger?

I mainly do small trails and a little bit of mud but i wanted to know if it would be worth it to lift my 2wd 4clyder ranger. i want a 4" rough country suspension lift and already have a 2" body lift. how expensive would it be ? will i start having to swap axles and motors to get it to handle the lift?
Thanks for the help.

I'm going down the same road buddy. Haha I've narrowed it down to a few options that are not so costly.

2" Maxtrac lift coils $165
3-4" lift spindles $300-$400
Coil spacers add like 1-2" (and you can have mine)
And then anything with a funny name will cost over 1k
(Rough country, camburg, fabtech, brenthel)

Ive been looking at the rough country 4" lift and those are $440 but im not sure if i want to because i don't want to have to completely rebuild my truck to be able to handle that lift

Lifting your truck in itself is not really harmful, provided you go with a reputable lift kit. Thousands of ranger owners run that 4" kit from rough country without issue. The extra wear comes from all the things that go along with lifting a truck. IE: bigger(heavier) tires, more aggressive offroading, etc. Your biggest issue is goin to be trying to turn larger tires with that 4 banger. You're gonna want to look into regearing.

Side note: OP can't run lift spindles; they don't work on pre '98 trucks.

Oops, didn't see that. Definitely Rough Country.
