Need help with 2wd lift
So I've worked my tail end off the last few weeks, getting a lot of overtime and some nice holiday pay, so I've decided to reward myself by doing something big to Rarity this time- I want to do a lift. I've been sifting through the forums for a while now and can't find any information on pre-97 2wd spindle lifts. I'm really wanting to do a 4" spindle lift up front with the Chevy lowering shackles in the rear, that seems like the most popular and reliable way, so what I'm wanting to know is are pre-97 spindle lifts the same as the 97+ spindle lifts? And what other components am I going to need/ want to replace while I'm tearing everything apart?

Re: Need help with 2wd lift
Lift spindles will not work with your truck as the suspension changed for the 98+ trucks. If you are on a budget I would consider a body lift, if not then I think rough country makes a kit for your truck (not 100% on that).

4" lift from rough country
Or 1.5" lift with 3" body lift is what you need
you have a TTB axle not IFS set up

Re: Need help with 2wd lift
Ok, so new plan then- can I still do the Chevy shackles in the back, just get 4" lift springs up front? I can't really afford to just buy a complete lift kit like that, so I'm just looking at alternatives. A body kit sounds cool, but I don't have a clue how I could pull that off where I'm at right now lol

Or maybe in, let will me do math for a

can't just do 4" coils you need all the drop brackets and brake line extensions body lift is easier then regular lift

Re: Need help with 2wd lift
Looks like that's the way I'll go then. My biggest thing is just getting my brushguard and my bumpers to line up properly. And as far as leveling the truck, can I use leveling coils? Or do I need to get somethin else? Just asking cause I've never lifted anything before and I'd rather get y'all's professional opinion than screw it up myself lol

Would these work? They aren't coil spacers per say, so I figure they aren't as harmful as those cheap coil spacers at auto shops.

Re: Need help with 2wd lift
Sweetness, I appreciate the help. The only reason I don't want to do a full suspension lift is because the price tag on that is too expensive for just a 2wd, and I plan on getting a 4x4 project soon so I'll have plenty of time to scrape the money together for that. I mean, Rarity gets along pretty good for what she is right now, I'd be scared to do anything more than I already do offroad because she's just a 2wd and she's my daily driver. I'm just wanting a new, level look for her and some extra clearance so I can fit some 15" explorer rims and some 32's under her. The leveling springs with the body lift sounds to me like the more practical method of lifting her for what I use her for, plus leave me some money left over towards those explorer rims. Any other thoughts?
