Default Suspension Lift Question

Hi, this is my first post so bare with me here. I'm stuck on all this information im hearing and reading about lifts for rangers. I want to lift mine a few inches but not sure where to go. Suspension or body? Would i need to modify or remount anything with a 2" body lift? and if i twisted my torsion bars only about 1.75" would i be fine? im really stuck on all of this. i want 2-3" of lift, not sure where to go though, i have 31s ready to put on the truck also. Any input on how i should lift my truck would be appreciated, thanks.

I don't believe anyone makes a 2" body lift for your truck. It's only manufactured as a 3" (Performance Accessories Part #883) - and it comes with everything that needs to be adjusted (bumper brackets, fuel line extension, radiator brackets) if your an automatic. Since you have a manual - you will also need the shift extension (Part #SE3700).

Yes - 68,565 Ranger owners have cranked their stock torsion bars since 1998 and been just fine. Just don't try to get much more & of course, get that alignment (unless you hate your tires).

Since you are 4WD - you have the following general options when it comes to lifting your truck:
  1. 1"-2" Torsion Bar Crank = Cost is only an alignment.
  2. 2" Leveling Kit = Waste of money, same as a torsion bar crank - see option #1 above.
  3. 3" Body Lift = +/- $200 + Install
  4. 4" Superlift = +/- $2,000 + Install
  5. Custom SAS = "Let your imagination take control of your wallet"
Pick your poison.

Thanks for this awesome information, ill probably go with the TT. and just put my 31s on it and get my alignment. Seems like the easiest and cheapest option.
