96 lift suggestions
I have a 1996 4wd stx Ranger.
I just ordered a 3 in body lift that will be installed, I also ordered
33x12.5x15's.
I want to install a suspension lift but im trying to find out the cheapest and easiest way to go about that do I have to buy a kit if I do whats the cheapest and if I don't what route should I go with?
Also if I do buy a kit do I have to buy anything else so that the kit will work with my truck like a different axle? its all stock its a v6 4.0
If you guys have any suggestions let me know !!
Thanks!!!

Rough country makes a 4 inch lift. No you don't have to swap axles but most likely gonna have to regear.

Re: 96 lift suggestions
Is it hard to install a 4 in suspension lift by myself? how long will it take And if I go with the 6 in suspension lift will I need a different drive shaft or anything?

Not sure about 6 inch. When I looked up the 6 inch you don't get shocks with the lift and it started at like 700-800. I did the 4 inch by myself in the drive way. Comes with Instructions

Re: 96 lift suggestions
how long did the 4 inch kit take you, and was it the rough country? Will there be much of a difference with the 4 inch suspension and 3 in body lift compared to stock I want it to sit a little higher than an f150

My truck has only a 4 inch rough country suspension lift on it. It took a couple days in the drive way cause I didn't have all the tools at my house. And with my lift and 31s it sits a lot taller then stock. We'll 4 inches but it looks taller.

4 inch rough country on same 31s

Only rear lift on.
Just to give you an idea of how the kit looks. My roof is actually just a tad higher then the roof on my moms 05 silverado 4x4.

Re: 96 lift suggestions
Damn bro those 31's look nice I was thinking my 33x12.5x15's where going to look small but after seeing how nicely yours look idk if I can get them to fit without another 4 inchs of suspension lift
If you would've had all the tools could you have gotten it done in lets say 8 hrs or so?

Lift options for your truck
1.5" leveling kit = 32" tires
4" lift kit = 33" tires
6" lift kit = 35" tires
3" body lift = 33" tires

If I had all the right tools probably 8 hours or less. But I'm not in a rush. I'm installing the pitman arm and steering stabilizer tomorrow. I'm also gonna most likely be going with 33x12.50s on 15x10s

You should be fine. I'm worried the 15x10 are gonna wear my ball joints and stuff out

Re: 96 lift suggestions
Do you think it would look right with 33's a 3 in body lift and 4 in suspension or even a 6 in suspension lift or will it make the tires look to small?
