Default How do I lift the front end to match the rear?

I have a 1987 Ranger 4X4 Manual 4 cylinder 2.3 with 4inch blocks in the rear...trying to figure out how to do a body lift on the front end to match the rear? Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You can only lift the front of the ttb trucks i think 3 inches before you need the proper drop brackets that come in a kit. Anything over 3 and it cant be aligned and puts the suspension all out of whack.

You could use a tortion key set but that turns your wheels in and decreases tread faster. The only way to lift it safely and not use up your tires fast is to buy extended steering rods and a kit which costs like 2grand. This saves your tires but costs a good amount

There is so much wrong information here it is unbelievable.

The OP's truck does NOT have torsion bars, it is a TTB truck with coils
Extended steering rods do NOTHING to change the camber that is affected by cranked torsion bars. Not like it matters on this truck.

Learn something before giving wrong information that can waste people's money.

Check out this thread...
http://www.fordrangerforum.com/lifte...ur-ranger.html

the part for you and i,,,
Ways to lift your Ranger-
Pre 97- 4x4
Cheap lift
Front- Easy and cheap F-150 coil springs good for about 3.75 (Note (Jrod-13) from TRS With 3 degree camber bushings, it may be possible to get within factory specs. Depending on your applications, it may also be impossible to align without the axle beam drop brackets.)

Rear-AAL (Add A Leaf) can be found at multiple sites online
Lift block- can be found at multiple websites in lift sizes of 1-4in
Body lifts- Again available from Summit racing and Performance Accessories (Body lift install-> Body Lift 3” – Tech Info Extravaganza )
Lift Shackles- the Chevy lowering Shackles can be used for 1-2in of lift
Suspension Lift kits-
4-6in lifts kit from Skyjacker
1.5-5.5 in lift kits from Superlift
4in lift kits from Tuff Country
4in lift kit from Rough Country
Leveling Kit- Daysta PN-KF09108BK

High End kits-
The following make lift kits also for a bit more money-
Camburg, Solo Motor Sports Autofab

----------

the guy i got my 94 off of used f150 springs in front and built a bastard pack in rear... bout 3-4 inches of lift and is in allignment

Well someone doesn't know about older twin suspension. And also torsion bar keys or crank there this thing you do called a front end alignment fixes the problem if the degree is to sever you buy camber adjusting bolts to slide the upper control arm out more and lay everything back to 0 then your fine. #studymechanicsmuch

there is no such thing as a stock 1987 ranger 4.0. The biggest in 1987 was the 2.9

then get a body lift for the front. you will remove the bolts that hold the body to the frame, jack it up, put in the larger spacers and bolts. Just like you did with the bed....

do you have pic of the current setup? bet it looks doofy....
