Best Lift Kit Avail (Jan 2014)
hey everyone. Just wondering what the best suspension lift kit for my ford ranger is nowadays. Seems like every time i have money to buy i research for a kit i find only "body lift kits" or kits that seem great but are discontinued already. any help towards a good kit would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Aside from a body lift, there is the free mod of cranking the t-bars to level/lift the front and then shackles/AAL for the the rear.
Superlift is the only company with a suspension lift made for the rangers that is still in business. If you search the forums there are a ton of threads on the different types of lifts that have some pretty good information.

superlift or bodylift. there are hundreds of picture threads showing both options, so search for them. there are no new or different options, no one is making anything new for a truck that is no longer being made.

Nah bro, that rancho kit is real and I've been hearing for the last 3 years it will be out next month.
To OP, find a used RCD or find a super lift.

Where do you find this stuff? Lol
I'll buy a 4x4 ranger if Rancho ever releases that lift.

I've been around too long I guess. Most people on this forum probably didnt know that lift was created. But that will be one of one.
Really not sure why they would go thru the trouble of designing that lift and not at least put out one run of them into production.

^I agree, it seems strange not to even do a limited production run. At least try and make your R&D investment back.

HAHAHA.... I remember that! Saved all the pics of it when you saved yours. Gotta find 'em. If memory serves me right, this was about 2007/8 and it was a 4" coil-over conversion kit, right? Even the X-member was very very similar to the RCD.
I doubt they'll release it. It would already be out if they were to release it. They probably discovered the market just isn't there. Which doesn't make sense for them to do the R&D. Which brings me to a conspiracy theory: Rancho purchased RCD's jigs, manufactured a kit or two, painted it red, sent it on the show circuit to gauge interest, and the interest wasn't there to pursue to the market.

I was thinking they were calling it a 3" lift but I know it was coilovers.

Ask and you shall receive...
These were taken at the 2007 Summit Truck Fest in September '07. Pics saved 9/14/07 from past forum members and these are all the pictures that I know to exist then and since.
All in all, the kit looks remarkably similar to the RCD. The reinforcements on the shock towers look more complex yet streamlined while the rear bar mounts are simplified. The LCA drop looks more than the Superlift's 3.5".....it's more like the RCD's 4.5". (approx numbers). The dropmembers are tied together in what appears could be a cradle. Sway bar links are top notch compared to Superlift junk.
Also stumbled upon an old TRS thread... http://www.therangerstation.com/foru...d.php?p=389178
And for kicks and giggles, also found this...

Re: Best Lift Kit Avail (Jan 2014)
thank you, gonna save those to the pic dump hard drive! if i were a betting man, i'd say that Rancho bought the files/jigs for the kit once it was discontinued and then changed it slightly before realizing it was not worth the effort.
