My thoughts as well. This was around when RCD started to stop production. Truth is we may never really know the story. They too were located in my Ranger Spank Bank of sorts. The thing dates back to 2002 and has like 500+ files.

2003 Ford Ranger Edge: 32x11.50r15 Cooper Discoverer STT tires. 15x10 Mickey Thompson Baja Locks. Rancho RS5000 shocks on front. Coilovers on back. Projector headlights with 8000k hid kit. 10" Rockford Fosgate shallow subs, 300 watt amp, and Kenwood deck.
