Rear shackles, leveling coil to fit 235/75/r15s on a 1991 2wd
Title sums it up well. I've poked around and it seems the consensus is that 235/75/r15 ATs should fit a 2wd 2nd gen ranger but the few pictures I've seen were DAMN close in a bare truck and someone mentioned rubbing up front at 3/4 wheel turn.
I haul a lot of crap in the truck and use it as a camper (two people sleeping in the back + bikes and gear for camping w/ sleeping platform made of 3/4" ply and 2x3s) so I need to fit those wheels and have some room to spare.
3" body lift seems like a giant PITA. My thought was 2" shackles and leveling coils. Couple questions on that. Is it true that the 4x4 2nd gen ranger coils are 2" taller than the 2wd coils and are interchangeable? Would that be cheaper/better idea than getting a 2" leveling coil? Also, do the Belltech 6400 shackles fit the 2nd gen rangers? Searched, couldn't find anything.
Thanks for anything and everything.

I have the Auto Zone version of the Beltech shackles on my 4x4. You could either do the shackles or put 4x4 blocks on. Look on T.R.S.' tech info page or search here for using coil spacers made out of washers. I would do that if you're just looking to level the truck to fit slightly larger tires.

Sounds like the quick and dirty solution. Which is exactly what I've been looking for
Thanks a ton!

Would be better to get the rough country leveling coil. Just to replace them so they are new and new shackles or lift blocks in the back. I'm running 31s on my truck with stock suspension with no rubs at all. And I haul a lot and sometimes my rearend is squatted bad and still no rubs.

The coils on there do look like hell. I'm pretty sure they're original to the truck.

Yeah might as we'll change them and spend the little but more for them instead of buying spacers and down the road getting new coils too. The stock ones probably have done sag in them too. My driver has a lot if sag. My truck sits 1 inch lower on the driver front opposed to the passenger. I have 2 of those coil things that you put in with a wrench to get rid of the sag as a temp till I get my lift

Re: Rear shackles, leveling coil to fit 235/75/r15s on a 1991 2wd
If I didn't get this truck for free, I might be annoyed
I've got the same thing going on. I thought it was just in my head but I went out and crawled around for a minute and sure enough, the truck is crooked as all git out. The rear passenger side is slumped nearly 2" lower than the driver side and up front the driver's side is slumped a little more than 1" from the passenger side. The shocks have less than 3000 miles on them, front and back. I just measured the shocks in the rear and both are sitting even.
So looks like leafs and coils. W/ that done, might not have to worry about anything in the rear.
Another question - 1.5" leveling coil. Folks w/ experience - did you need new alignment cams or just a basic realignment?

I have the 1.5" coils on my 93. I put new camber bushings in (not necessary, I just did it), all you'll need is a basic alignment. Easy install too

Yeah I'm replacing it with them. I need new coils and shocks so I might as well just get a lift and spend a little more. It's gotta wait cause I gotta replace my entire frontend. I'm getting new rotors calipers, pads, bearings, ball joints and tie rods.
