Who told you that? I don't know if you could get by, **BUT** when I was lifting my cab for my body lift the shaft started separating (the lower shaft is seize into the upper shaft on mine) where the smaller piece of the lower steering shaft goes into the larger piece of it. Based on that I would say you probably will need the extension.

Not arguing. But I can't see how f150 brackets would be the same as a ranger. But idk. That steering extension is needed. Doesn't matter what the people on the phone say. The people on the phone aren't the people are sales man and most of the time don't know anything. Personally I don't believe in body lifts. And to me it would be easier to sell the kit to a guy that has an f150 for cheaper then the kit new and buy a ranger kit and install it. Because what happens when your half way through your install and you have wrong parts? They don't work? Then you have to back track and fix what doesn't work.

Hmm....strange. Your truck came with metric bolts and so does the PA kit. The F150 too. Additionally, a hardware store makes bolts on the spot?? Really???????

Grade 5 or 8 is standard. Grade 8.8/10.9 is metric......what your body mounts take....

WOAH WOAH WOAH there kid. Apparently you must have a hard time reading 'cause there were a few folks on your side of the confrontation and one post (post #20) addressed all questions you asked. Answered your original question fully.

Let me catch you on a LIE....

I did a simple search of Performance Accessories' website, which you could have EASILY done on your own, which lead me to instructions for their #833 (89-92 Ranger) and #862 (97-02 F150) kits. The steering extension is COMPLETELY different between the two. The only things that are the same are the 3x3" poly blocks and that's it. Those are a whopping $3 each brand new.

I suppose PA lied to you? Highly doubtful. And they made and included a steering extension in kits when it's not needed too!?!?? HIGHLY doubtful. I guess they include a precise fit extension for no reason then???

Guaranteed the bumper brackets are completely different.

Performance Accessories #833 install guide: http://www.performanceaccessories.co...ctions/833.pdf

Performance ACcessories #862 install guide: http://www.performanceaccessories.co...ctions/862.pdf

Best of luck surviving this site or others.......you don't listen and you LIE.

Or you could do a suspension lift and not have an awful ugly gap

Suspension lift cost > body lift cost.

Looks good no gaps new shocks and springs>3 inch gap around entire truck.

That's just me though. I would rather spend $500 on a 4 inch suspension then 200 for a 3 inch body.

TTB lift is cheap. OP wants lift for no cost what so ever. Jerry rigged at it's finest.
