Nobody ever said you were. I happen to not take everything said as fact either, and I checked into things. Between my dad, my grandpa, and a cousin who work(ed) at Ford and my wife and I currently driving Fords, I'll bet that 30+ Fords have been owned/leased in the last 30 years by my family alone. I have never once heard of a FORD speedometer being "off". Obviously, that doesn't mean that the possibility doesn't exist, rather my family happens to have been around a lot of speedometers in that time. Other factors definitely exist also, such as different speedometers in different cars, etc.

One mistake, and it is already fixed. Of course, you don't care since you're a troll. Again, news to me about speedometers being "off". I also have family in law enforcement and nobody once mentioned that, such and such a brand be on the lookout for. I did know someone in college who had a Hyundai Sonata (?) with a problem that his family had taken care of by Hyundai. At least, I posted an informative article about speedometers being off. Just because a Canadian makes a statement doesn't make it the truth.

In the end, the only speed that matters is the one on the cops radar gun. According to my speedo, I should get a ticket every time I pass a cop, in any of my vehicles. Yet somehow, I don't. Factory speedos ARE off to some degree. Even brand new vehicles. I drove a Chevy Silverado 2500 with less than 5000 miles on it for work a few times. Consistently ran 3mph faster than my actual speed. Its not just Ford. Its every brand

All speedos are off to some degree, and are thrown off very easily, Just having low tire tread can throw it off because the over all diameter of the tire is different than what its factory tuned to be at, even as little as 0.5% diameter can make a difference.

Back on topic: my first speeding ticket was 117 in a 60...

First time I got pulled over up here in Oregon I expected to get a really hefty ticket, as the guys had been warning me about them.

Went into a 35 doing 45-ish and didn't realize that or that he was behind me. When he pulls me over he tells me everything and tells me to just be more careful and aware next time.

As he's walking back to his car, I say, "So, do I get a warning or a ticket or anything?"

He turns and asks, almost apologetically, "Oh God, do you want one?"

Think we both drove away with a good laugh from that.

First ticket EVER was about 80 in a 35.

I got pulled over for doing 120 in a 45 running running a red light running a second red light squeeling tires no tail lights or brake lights. And got off with nothing!!!! Told the cop that the guy i was racing had rearended me and i was trying to get his plate. I was in a 1974 ford galaxie. He was in a 92 dakota. Told the cop it was a s-10. I was trying to stop at the first red light. Brake fade sucks.

Got pulled over for doing a burnout and drivig.about 45-50 in a 25, and I got off with a warning. But I also did it at 1am when there were no other vehicles around (except for the cop that was hiding behind my smoke cloud. Lol).

You can get out of most speeding tickets if you know how to work the system.

First you have to fight it, go to court and plead not guilty.
Ask for proof of when the officer last calibrated and tested their radar gun.
Those guns need to be checked, calibrated, and tested every so often. The officer has to keep a log. And to drag things out you can even ask for a demonstration on how its done.
Remember the system is still "Innocent until PROVEN guilty".
They have to provide as much proof as possible. Its their word against yours and your onboard speedometer against their radar gun, which may be faulty. Thats called playing the "reasonable doubt" card.

If you fight it and consume the judges time and the officers time and it ends up being more costly than the ticket they will most likely dismiss it.
Most people just pay the fine and go on, thats what they are hoping and wanting people to do. They dont like it much when people actually defend themselves and fight it.

This mostly works if your going like 60 in a 50 zone. If you are going like 80-100 in a 45 yeah youre probably screwed.

My stepdad was a deputy sheriff, he said this happens every now and then, but about 8 out of 10 will just pay the ticket and not fight it.

Just take note to never go in and fight a parking ticket, because they will tack on court costs as well if they find you guilty; Not sure if they do the same for speeding tickets though.
