There are A LOT of kids in the world today that could benefit from that kind of discipline.

Saw this last evening and it's kinda sorta hilarious, but maybe not. And before I forget, where I live one can lose his concealed carry permit for such behavior with a firearm.

Anyway, the guy in the video may not have a family at all. The laptop case could be an empty case or it come have actually been her laptop.

But, assuming it is true...

I picked up a "mom and step-mom" comment. Females can be vicious when dealing with other females, so his comment tells me the daughter is in competition for power with another woman who is not her birth mother. The upshot is the kid probably learned her attitude at home, and given that her voice might be shut out at home then her spouting off on Facebook ha a logical basis.

Next, the guy’s use of the pistol represents an escalation of conflict that he has already admitted is present in the home. What I mean by escalation is this --

“You threw a pebble at me so I'll throw a rock at you.”
“You threw a rock at me so I'll throw a brick at you.”

“You shoved me so I'll knock you flat on your arse.”
“You hit me with a pencil so I'll wallop you with a ball bat.”

...And so it goes in a sick game of pay-back via one-ups man ship.

So now the guy has pulled a firearm and destroyed her laptop. He crossed a subtle boundary in dealing with the negotiation of power that will actually result in her respecting him less.

And in the dysfunctional scheme of things working in the home, about the only thing she can do in retaliation is break into the gun safe (if there is one) and blast holes in the house (or in him and step-mom) with a shotgun.

The more likely thing is that he will assure she cannot get her hands on a weapon (I darned sure would) so what she will do instead is wait until she can legally leave the home and move out/move-in with the first thing that pays any attention to her.

Finally, provided the tree-huggers and femi-nazis don't get to him first and string him up from the nearest tree, at the end of the day family services will enter the home with social workers and court ordered counseling.

They need it.

Um.....ok...what he done was totally called for since other techniques didnt seem to work for her. Thats fhe problem these days, kids are spoon fed too much and expect the world to be given to them and that they can treat their oarents any way they want.

Not a single one of would survive back in the day, when kids actually had to work around the house or on the farm to help make a living. Now kids would rather sit on facebook all day and be given this or given that without a single ounce of appreciation. I think it was a wakeup call to america and i commend his actions.

Parents need watch the video and learn from it in all honesty. They need to start wearing the pants in the husehold instead of letting their "children" walk all over them.

I was raised with an iron fist, if i done wrong i wasnt only grounded but i got wore out. My things taken from me etc... guess what im a better person for it. I will raise my children the same way. I also beleive in the bible and that children are UNDER tbeir parents and that it is sin to not honor them. Maybe if america still followd that example we woukd have less crime etc....

I see little brats that get everything they want and listpen how they talk to their parents and it breaks my heart. What that little girl said in that letter was downright called for and disrespectful. I dont blame her dad at all and i woukd have dine the same. He set right all the lies she was telling publically on fb. So he publically set the record straight. He didnt know it would go viral like it did, wow he shot a laptop....call the police. Id jerk a knot in that childs a$$ if it were me.

Sorry fir the spelling, im on my phone hard to type all that

I was raised to respect my parents and other adults and it seems that kids arent taught that anymore and this video indicates that she has no respect for her parents at all. At that age or any age I would have NEVER thought to speak that way to/about my parents. She got off easy IMO, much easier than I would have had I ever done anything like that. I remember mouthing off to my dad when I was 17 once and he took the license plate off my truck. It really sucked being 17 with a truck and a licence but having to ride the bus to school. Parents spend too much time these days worrying about being there kids friends rather than being parents and leaders and the kids run the household. They grow up with no respect and have no ability to be take responsibility for their own actions, instead they blame everyone else around them for everything. Thats a very poor quality to have and will make it very hard for them to live in the realworld once theyre out from under mom and dads wing. I think what this guy did is awesome and some parents really could take his advise. Its an over the top way to get the pint across but it will be a life lesson for the daughter that hopefully she never forgets.

As the Father of a bunch of High School and College girls/women.........the guy helped create this issue and then brandishes a gun to try and solve it?...Really?...He is suppose to be the mature leader of the family?....He also never mentioned that the girl has a new step-mom and the step-mom and the dad have a new baby.......I think the young women was stressing out and now the whole world knows about the issue.......I think he is an Idiot!.....

That's a good video. Was just on youtube goofing off, and found this Ford Ranger open cab overseas commercial.

I saw this on facebook, this guy is awesome! There is nothing like public humiliation to get a teen to straighten up. They will hate the parent for now but with thank them later for it.

I showed the video to my teenaged daughter and 1. She loved it, 2. She agreed the daughter deserved it.

I disagree with most of you..........The only time you use a gun is to

-Hunt
-practice
-defend yourself or another person, and don't pull the gun unless you are prepared to use it.

I think the guy is a fool!!

also any of you gun supporters should be pissed at the guy....it opens the door for the gun haters......
