I'd always get the idiots in shop class (back in the day) sending them looking for the board stretcher.

It is funny at work with the helpers. They just get tools and parts for you. They are inspiring to one day do what we do.

You always get them with the spark plug on a diesel the first day. Well when it comes to convert a diesel to a natural gas. You ask them to get the spark plugs for it they just laugh at you and say "your not gonna get me this time" When in reality you actually do need spark plugs.

Hummers not have keys im guessing?

I remember seeing a video of a guy that put a balloon on his exhaust to prove that when in reverse, the exhaust sucked air in it...I rmember someone mentioning putting a cone filter on the exhaust.

...at which point, the appropriate response would have been to send him looking for a metric crescent wrench, as you already had a (right-handed) SAE metric wrench.

A while ago we had a production halt at work because of a stock shortage in another department and my foreman asks me what we were out of. With a straight face I told him piston return springs. As soon as I could tell that I had him hesitating, I dug in and said something like "Yeah I know we don't put 'em in, I'm talking about Lima. They're out so they can't ship us any motors until THEY get 'em. Nothing we can do." He just kept looking at me kinda unsure like he couldn't decide whether I was joking, yet like he was just glad to not be responsible for it. Then I pretended to be in a hurry to get somewhere and walked away. He caught up to me later and admitted that I had him thinking about it.

At work we use all of the good stuff above and even bottom of the barrel stuff like "Engine RPM's" or
"We don't have enough power for the steering."
"We're out of weather for the weather stripping"
