Re: **Official "Picture That Make You Laugh" Thread*
Saw 'so examples of the worst riced up cars ever seen. First was a late 80's silver Mercury Grand Marquis with red plasti-dip highlighted trim pieces and grill ornament with stick on fender "flares", also red, and a windshield banner that said MERCURY across it. Factory wheel were also plasti-dipped, and had dual exhaust with fart cans (HKS Apexi etc) Kid was pulling out of a high school parking lot, white on the outside with a backwards flat brimmed baseball cap and a bunch of gangsat jewelry chains. Had another guy in the front seat similarly attired. Pulled out and had this too cool for school look on his face "look at how cool I am. I turned my grandparents' hand me down car into a dope ride". Also had a bass system rattling the trunk lid and his window down even though it was cold enough that I had the heater on.
Second car I saw was another late 80's four door sedan. This was a Camry, two tone (gold and rust). Had a big muffler (from something else that stuck out several inches from the bumper) and the whole exhaust was hanging down. TRD stickers on the quarters (with 4X4 and Off Road cut off). And it wasn't lowered as much as the suspension had been worn out. Again factory wheels had been spray painted a really bright light blue. Requisite ginormous rear wing, and it was obvious driving behind it that it was an automatic transmission.
On those notes

Re: **Official "Picture That Make You Laugh" Thread*
Yeah, gold and rust two tone. Coined that little gem myself.
Here's another one I saw a while back. Ex cop car, filthy dirty (some of that dirt might be structural though). Epic win vanity plate. Should have spent some of that $90.00 on the vanity plate on car washes. Or saved up and bought something other than an ex cop car. By the time they hit the auction they've been sold to a couple less well off departments and have hundreds of thousands of (hard) miles on them.
And contrary to popular belief the Police Interceptor engine is not any more powerful than the regular V8 that Crown Vic come with. And the top speed isn't any higher either.

Of course they are! Naturally, shiny, flashing lights make it faster. As does a shotgun rack and a CB antenna. The difference is, the driver has eaten more donuts than a regular driver, so the extra weight negates the extra speed. If the departments were to Plasti-dip the rims, and the fenders, it would be faster again.

Re: **Official "Picture That Make You Laugh" Thread*
Ha, good one TF!!
I remember in high school my buddy bought a 1970 Grand Prix SJ with a built and blown 455, nos and tubed for 12" slicks. It was a guy's 10 second car (without the bottle, with the nos it was 8's). We were driving on this highway coming home from school one day, and the road dipped down to cross the Mad river. You come over the little rise and could see miles down the little valley where the DOT had blasted out the bedrock to build the highway.
We were doing about 135 (last number on the bar speedo- actually the needle was over into the gas gauge) and saw a state highway patrolman in the emergency turnaround in the median. Chris saw it, and put his foot down. Might have hit the button but we accelerated and went past him at probably 150-160 or so.
The trooper hit his emergency lights before we passed him, and actually pulled out to pursue us (what a joke! Even is he wasn't limited to 120 he'd have to have a really fast car to accelerate and close the gap to get up to us). We went down to the second exit (first was still in his view) and were going over the highway when he went by lights and sirens flat out. Probably on the radio calling in a primered (everything, including the chrome trim bumpers and head light covers) 2 door with black vinyl roof and aluminum slot mags (if he even saw them we were going to fast).
Never had a chance. Sucker!!

But they did come with a heavy duty alternator, oil cooler, trans cooler, power steering cooler and under drive pulleys.
There's a reason why they were and still are the best police cars. They can handle all the abuse, need minimal maintenance and mileage isn't an issue.
And that is a Grand Marquis, that is not an ex-cop car. Cop cars don't come with wood trim and leather.
Stick to your lame ass jokes, you fail less at that than talking shit about cops.

Police interceptor is not an engine. It is a package. Suspension, more coolers, higher capacity cooling system, highoutput alternator, etc.
