So Sven is a farmer who lives in Nebraska. One day his milk cow is dead in her stall. She was old and he expected it, so he called around looking for a new milk cow. He heard that there was a livestock auction in North Dakota, and they had several milk cows there, so he hooked his horse trailer to his pickup and drove to North Dakota.

Sure enough, there were several milk cows there, mostly mature ones, some well past there prime and a few young ones. He's looking at a young one and the owner tell him she's a great milker, and to go ahead and try her out.

So, he runs his hand across her back and down her flank, speaking calmly to her (doesn't want to spook her), grabs a teat and pulls. He's rewarded by a nice strong stream of milk and the cow farts. So he tries the other teat, nice strong stream and cow farts again.

He thinks she'll do, young strong cow should give him a few years of milk. And he can deal with the flatulence, so he bids and wins the auction. Gets her for a cheaper price since she's a farting cow and most of the buyers there are turned off.

Gets her home and into her stall and calls his buddy Olaf to come see his new cow. Olaf come over and Sven says he can try her out. So Olaf grasps a teat and pulls, good stream of milk and a fart. Tries the other teat with the same results.

Olaf says "Sven, is this cow from North Dakota?"

Sven is shocked, Olaf didn't know he left the state, says "Yes, how did you know?"

Olaf says "My wife is from North Dakota."
