Hello everyone! New here! Really though im here for a friend who is usually too busy to do this kinda thing. Long story short, me and him are in the same boat as far as hearing that the engines in our trucks arent gonna give us much power. My truck is a 200 Chevy S10 2.2L 4cyl and yeah...meager power but headers, exhaust, bigger TB, intake, e-fan, and underdrive pulleys later I am MUCH happier with it. Enough about my S10 though...
My buddy has an 02 Ranger EDGE. I actually found it for him and he bought it. It has the 3.0 V6 and is 5 speed manual. He recently just put a 2-3" leveling kit and plans on getting new wheels and tires very soon (he already ordered them) and his love for the truck is renewed (he previously wanted to sell it).
So...he took interest in trying to squeeze some more ponies out of his 3.0. Any suggestions? Currently its all stock. I tried finding a cheap ebay intake like the ones made for my S10 with no luck. Headers for mine were $230 shipped, lookin at at least $100 more than that for some JBAs, are there any more affordable ones?
Would really love some information on what can be done for relatively cheaply you know?
-Does an E-Fan conversion help? Which fan? Taurus fan?
-Are there larger throttle bodies available for relatively low $$$?
-Underdrive pulleys make any difference and what is done to keep the ratio to the alt the same? My buddy has a big stereo system in his truck
-What to do for exhaust? is the stock piping big enough or full catback recommended? Flowmaster or Magnaflow and which specific one?
any help with all of this would be greatly appreciated...heres a pic i took of my buddy's truck right after we installed the leveling kit...
Thanks for any help!
