New to Forum - Troublesome Ranger
My name is Frank, I live in Pembroke, Ontario. Bought a 2005 Ranger 4 x 4 with the 4.0L V6 a couple of years ago. I had a fairly trouble free first year, but the truck's been gradually accumulating problems.
1. Fuel pump check valve went, and now it takes 2-3 attempts to start it. Is there any cheap fix for that, or is a new fuel pump the only way to go? (Can you put a check valve closer to the engine, for instance)
2. Clutch won't release well. I took the clutch mechanism off the firewall, inverted and bled it, and it's 80% better, but still notchy to shift.
3. I just tried 4WD for the first time since last winter, and get a clunking going on every 50 yards or so. I don't know if it's going in properly or not. This is my first 4WD, and I don't know how to troubleshoot, or where to look. What all can go wrong with them? (I suspect lots!)
