First Ranger- First Post
Hello all, I just joined here because it seemed so helpful even tho I wasn't a member, so I decided to join to get the fullest experience and (hopefully) help because I really need it! I'm not in any way a mechanic what so ever, I'm a construction worker but I like taking things apart and making them work better so I guess I could in a really strange way be a slight mechanic.
I just bought this '95 Ranger from my buddy, he did a bunch of work on it himself and is in no way mechanically inclined, he put in a turn signal mechanism from a '92 and could never get the signal lights to work at all. So I tore apart the steering column and noticed he had taped the whole thing back together since he disassembled it entirely and zip disced all the screws in the process apparently. So when I got the truck none of the lights worked(turn signals, reverse light, windshield wipers, and only the front left hazard light worked). So I set to fixing it the best that I can.
Now I have pulled it apart and tightened everything with some clamps just to hold it together, and now everything works except the turn signals, all hazards, reverse lights, and windshield wipers(although they don't turn off for some reason) but still no signals. I checked all fuses and they are all good, I am at a loss for what it could be and have posted in several places where I thought it could help me find some wonderful awesome human to help guide me to where I need to go to make it work.... Also I should mention I dont have alot of money and a wiring harness is out of the question, just so I don't get advice from someone and have to say that later......
Um.... That's my hello to Ranger Forum. Lengthy I know, and I apologize, I just wanna make this beast work, any help is greatly appreciated!
