Default After a 5 year Ranger hiatus......

Im back!!!

I bought a 2003 Ranger FX4 about a few weeks ago. It's almost what I always called my "dream Ranger." I say almost because I wish it was a FX4 Level II, but they've proved to be almost impossible to find and even more difficult to find with a manual. Which this one I bought is a 5 speed! I bought this to tow my boat and haul firewood, trash, and whatever else I choose. It's just a bit more practical than my Honda at this point.

I was a member on some other Ranger forums, but in my search for info I kept being redirected to this one, so I decided to make an account. Hopefully this site is as active as it seems!

My new truck:

I recently replaced the chrome piece on the bumper. It was pretty rusty.

The reason why I got rid of my first Ranger:

^Just in case anyone is wondering it's supercharged/aftercooled/pullied with bolt-on's making ~350whp/230wtq with full Koni adjustable suspension and 9" wide wheels. It's an absolute blast to drive and I love it.

Their first time meeting:

My old Ranger:

Part of the reason I got the Ranger was to pull this:

Thanks for looking!

Thank you. Nothing yet. I really need to ditch the BFG KM's that are on it for a more road friendly tire. I'm not in to wheeling much other than the occasional donut in the snow. These KM's are really loud. I'd like to stick with a 31 though.

Also need to fix a tiny leak in the rear slider (not the third brake light I already searched/checked) and seal up the cap. The cap leaks quite a bit.

Other than that just drive it for a while and make sure all the kinks are worked out and the maintenance items are in check.

First off, nice ranger!! I love that year almost as much as my 08 fx4, yours would have been my 2nd option! Second, loving the civic! How much drop are you running right now and any camber?! Third and finally, nice whaler, to me it looks like an outrage 20? You lucky guy having all three! Want to see a pick of the whaler behind the ranger!

Thanks. I'll look in to those. I definitely need something since these KM's are so loud.

Thank you!

The Civic has about a 1 finger gap all the way around. It's got about -1.5 degrees front/-2.9 degrees rear camber. It's really not as much as it sounds and I don't get any tire wear since my toe is perfect.

You're close on the Whaler. It's an Outrage 17. I recently upgraded from a Dauntless 15. The Outrage is a whole different ball game for only being "2 feet" bigger. As for the pic of the truck and boat; ask and you shall receive:

I used to borrow my Dad's Tacoma whenever I wanted to pull the boat. It wasn't a huge deal since I leave the boat in a slip most of the time.

I do want to be able to take the boat on vacation and stuff so it made sense to get a truck. I don't like to rely on others for things like that.

Yeah it was nice. I also needed something in case I broke the Honda or it needed to be down for a few days or a week to upgrade something.

The Honda isn't good for hauling around my mountain bike or all the gear that goes along with owning a boat. All around a good decision so far!

I'm in Southern MD. Right by the Chesapeake Bay.

Ahhhh ok, I was on my phone and it looked like a 150 on the back, was going to say that the 17 would be a little overpowered with a 150! Nice rig tho! Love how it looks behind the truck!
