BMW guy wanting to get back to the Ranger scene...
Hello! I am Matt in Virginia Beach, VA. I just discovered this forum today. My sig describes my last and only 1999 Ford Ranger 4 cylinder. It was black and nothing special about it. I lost it a few years ago when the engine blew due to a friend's lack of knowledge, then a bankruptcy took her away before I could get a new engine. I hope to get another 98/99 Ranger soon! Thanks in advance for having me here!

Thanks everyone! I really am excited to hopefully be back with it again. My last Ranger was great... as they are awesome little trucks.

They installed it and mistimed it and said they didn't know why nor could they figure out why it wouldn't start. Furious, I took it out of the shop and took it to a buddies house, where he timed it properly. But the damage was done. 5mpg, 4 check engine codes, and really loud exhaust tone. The day after that the motor blew. After examination the valve stem for cylinder 4 broke and busted the piston into many pieces, held together by only the rings. The timing belt was intact. SO in short... f*** my supervisor. (Anyone in VB... it was Grainger's by pick'n'pull).
