Hello all,
My names Thomas, 20 years old and im finishing up College right now.
I currently work at Toyota of Portsmouth in Portsmouth, NH as a Technician. Cars and trucks take up most of my time whether it be work or side jobs.
The truck:
1995 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab. 2.3L, 5 Speed, 2wd with 230,XXX miles!
The only modifications that have been done so far are a 2in leveling kit, HID's and LED third brake light.
I plan on jumping right into this as a project truck, but currently is going to stay my DD.
Plans:
Ive sourced a 2.3L Motor/5 speed with around 150,000 miles. Looking for a 8.8 axle with discs. playing with the idea of switching to a proportioning valve with the axle swap. Hopefully a built motor that will go in around fall/winter time frame.
Over the next two months the current motor will get a tune up, water pump is leaking pretty bad and ive got no idea when the timing belt was done last.
The automotive branch of my college is having a car show May 19th and I plan to have all new steering components, rebuilding the P/S pump and lowering the truck by then.
For only driving for the last 4 years, I think ive had quite a few cars
.
1998 Pontiac Grand AM/ 2.4L Auto
2001 Jeep Cherokee 4.0/ 5 Speed
2003 Ford Mustang 4.6/ 5 speed
2006 Ford F-150 4.6 / Auto
2010 Scion tC 2.4 / Auto
Finally
1995 Ford Ranger 2.3 / 5 Speed
If anyone has some helpful advice or tips let me know!
-Tom
