Smile Hi from Denver

Hello, the introductions say, to say "hello" and become part of the community. I have had a few Rangers in the past and I just bought a pretty old and rare one, and was excited to get it, still am and was exploring the web due to not being able to sleep from to much Long John Silvers and got tired of rolling back and forth and thought I'd get up and explore my possibilities to fix it up.

The truck I just bought is a 1983 Ranger 2.2L Diesel 4 speed with this all diamond plate steel flat bed on the back. No signs of bent frame from wreckage so I can only assume the original bed was replaced due to rust or roughness from working dunno. I am thinking of running a CarFax on it to just see where all it has been out of curiosity mainly.

I have never seen the Diesel Ranger before, and apparently neither has the guy that I took it to, to do the emission on it, which it passed barely.

Anyhow Hello

I believe the diesel was available from 83-88, you rarely see them around anymore though.

Wow. I was thinking this was going to be another dead forum, looks like I was wrong, sweet I love it when I am wrong about things like that. Thank guys.

And ya the plain diesel (Perkins)was available from 83 to 85 the rest of the years was a turbo diesel giving it like .1L more or something. I think but in the Mazda counter part b2200 82~something dunno I got the details somewhere, but it is probably the slowest motor I have ever owned.

^ Don't know it those dates are exact but close, doesn't matter every time I work on the motor on this I will have to plan ahead to order the parts.

Hi, Just found this site after searching for Ranger motor questions. Did not know that site ever existed. Seems like a good one.

The Alemeda and Sheridan area, this one was tricky to grab I got there just in time, this other lady pulled up there right as I did, I spoke English and he understood me directly, she wanted someone on the phone to translate for her. I said I'll take it the idiot on the phone tried to haggle still, for less LOL
