Gee, you really wanna hear my story? Well, OK, you asked for it! So here goes!
I guess that you are wondering what kind of person I am? Well I'm the kind of guy that would rather tear down an engine than to spend the day typing. My primary source of income is telling engineering technicians what to do all day. My secondary is bouncing at a bar down the street from where I work.
I'm a Baby Boomer since I was born in the sixties and I primarily grew up on a dairy farm-hence the nickname Cowspots. Hobbies you ask? Oh crap! Here we go!
I have been spending considerable time bonding with my new Kawasaki Vulcan 900 riding as many as 800 miles a day, of course I was chasing tail and that is another long story in itself.
Call me insane but somehow I sometimes find the time to build and fly radio control airplanes and I have several of these expensive critters. I sometimes wonder if women would be cheaper to keep, and then I think about it and declare that I prefer to rent than own.
I bought my first FORD in 2002. It was an '87 Bronco II 4x4 that I traded farmer Brown (seriously) a set of used tires and $100 for. The fuel pump was out on it but it did run. I used it on the farm for a while and then one day I made the neighbor an offer of $300 for her '92 Ranger Supercab that was overgrown by weeds. Reluctantly, she accepted and we dragged it home with a tractor after I aired up the dryrotted tires.
After I replaced the M5OD with one from a 2000 model and a few other parts, I had it running. So well in fact that I rented a car hauler and drove it to Sarasota, NY 3 days later to pick up a car I had won on eBay. After putting many miles on it I sold both on eBay because I now had my new love. A NEW '06 Ranger Supercab Sport with a 3.0L, cruise, tilt, 5-Speed Auto, tow package, heavy suspension in Screaming Yellow!
I have really enjoyed the 92,000 miles we have sent together except when it gets stuck. All the time in fact. Just spit on the ground and she'll spin in it. So I attempted to trade, but the $20,055 difference for a used '07 just like it in 4x4 made me want to puke!
So I did what any crazy fool with a wrench in hand would do: I decided to make it 4x4! A few weeks ago I started the surgery.
I'll save that for another post soon.
