Cool From Chandler, AZ

Hey just thought I'd say hello since the site is nagging me to. Actually this is a good opportunity to find out how reliable these trucks are. I am considering buying one, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out why they are so much cheaper than Toyota Tacomas. You see 2001-2003 rangers for sale with mileage ranging from 100k to 150k for like 6000 and then toyota tacomas with mileage of 150k to 200k going for like 9000. I'm just a bit thrown off by this. I'd rather own an ranger because it's cheaper but I want to make sure it will last me a while.

They are cheaper because the initial sales price is cheaper, and because that's simply what the market dictates. More people trust Toyota than Ford, and thus there is greater demand for Toyota products, which means they can sell them for more. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if there are also more Rangers than Tacomas produced, skewing the whole supply/demand equation.

That makes sense. It is just aggravating to see people selling toyotas with 200k for insanely high prices. The main reason I wanted a Ford in the first place is because I heard they were cheaper to repair if anything did break. So I guess I will stick with my decision to get a ford Ranger. Seems that the Automatics are more popular than the manuals. Anyway thanks for the info, hopefully I'll find a good deal on a Manual transmission Ford Ranger xD
