i feel those issues are very common. I have about three oil leaks and a rough idle when cold. during summer its pretty good. Mine is a 92 3.0 V6. good luck, hope u like it. Through all the dirt grime and issues, I love mine.

Loving mine so far as well. Yeah the first I noticed the idle issue was right towards the end of summer here, Pacific NW. Hmmm. Oil cap is on square and snug. Cleaned MAF sensor by spraying with electronics cleaner. Still experiencing the idle glitch w/ intermittent CEL. Suspecting sensor or vacuum leak...

dle Issue Update:

Today's course of action went something like this..
-Removed IAC Valve, cleaned and re-installed replacing the gasket.
-Cleaned around throttle plate inside the throttle body clearing away gunk.
-Started and ran engine, problem persisted.
-Picked up a new MAF. Installed. No change.
-Acquired new IAC Valve. Installed. Ran Engine, problem worsened. Engine idle dropped really low to where engine made a chattering noise, shook, then died. Third start, after an intimate moment with my creator was had, engine started smoothly and idled. Less lunging when putting through parking lots and much smoother all around throttle response! Thanks for the helpful links and hints everyone that helped.

I just got a new water pump, and not the whole top part of the engine is taken apart. Getting the head gaskets fixed. Yay. Appearantly the 3.0 had some issues with the heads. While we are in there tinkering we are going to check out the leaks. (Without the ranger for almost 2 weeks. missing it like crazy!)
Ive been driving a Chevy Malibu, 198? classic. But the heater went out. and so i drive with the windows down to keep it from fogging up. sucks. (( Want my ranger back
