Default Hello

Been checking out the board for a while so I would jump in. I wrenched the first fifteen years of my career and now only do it for fun. I grew up in the custom truck scene of the 80's, around the time the imports were just making their impression felt. I had several rangers through the years from mild to wild, along with a dozen or so from other makes. I have had a few 4x's, but always come back to the lowriders. Now I am 35 with two kids and do get funny looks from other parents when I pull up to the PTA in a flat black sport truck pushin 20's Who said you have to be boring when (if?) you grow up? Oh well. On to the machine.
It is a 93 Super Cab, 4.0 (all stock), 5 speed truck. I found it behind a freinds neighbors house with the grass growing up to the windows. When I asked the guy about it, he said he bought it for his son to drive in high school and the boy lowered it, blew the clutch out and parked it. It had been sitting there ever since. $300 bucks and a tow truck got it home. Since then I have added the wheels, put in a steering sector, and reworked the brakes (stock reshoe). The clutch was actually fine, it just needed a new slave cylinder. The original paint on the truck was a funky looking purpleish color, or so my wife said, I am color blind. It was faded really bad and had the clear coat peeling off so I gave it my now customary coat of black primer. When the spring comes I will suede it proper like, but I refused to drive around in a purple truck till then!!

Other intrest include, but are not limited to, gunsmithing, long distance target shooting, woodwork, following around my 12 year old daughter (she plays in a traveling basketball circuit) and last but not least Motorcyles.
If I had to name a primary passion in my liife (besides the kids) it would have to be bikes and the bike world. You may notice I didnt say "biker". I dont really like the term or the images it conjours up. I am not a Hells Angel. I dont know any Hells Angels. Those guys are 1%ers for a reason. I just love motorcycles and all things motorcycle related. I ride, wrench, customize and bastardize. I have a small side buisness that I run from my garage and hope to one day turn that into my primary means of support. But in the time in between rides, i like to play with the ranger.
