Default new in town

Howdy. Never owned a Ford truck but like the size of the Ranger and the give away prices they are being offered at. My buddy has a 2005 Ranger with the 6 cylinder and its nice but doesn't seem to have much get up and go. I don't want a dragster but something I could cruise at highway speeds all day.
Are there any simple add ons to give it more pep? I presently drive two 28 year old GM cars and a 60 year old Chevy truck. Sorry for all you Ford fans for having said that but hey I'm open to change.
Bill

Is this for your buddies truck? Or are you looking to buy Ranger?

If your looking to buy I highly recommend you get the 4.0 engine.

No this would be for my truck if I bought one. I am looking now. The 4.0 litre, if you will pardon my ignorance, would be the 6 cylinder? I am old school and still think in cubic inches!

The 4.0 is indeed a 6 cylinder but it is not THE 6 cylinder. For a while now Ford Rangers have had two different 6 cylinder engines available to them, the 3.0 and the 4.0, of which the 4.0 is significantly quicker.

It appears that spammers are getting into this site with their advertising (?) or subliminel messages. I keep getting mail saying that a reply to my post was made but the replies are all obviously spam.

Sorry about that Bill. Spam messages are deleted ASAP. However, earlier today I just implemented a newer, more advanced, anti-spam script so that should stop it.

Not blaming anyone Tom. Just want the members to know that they are not my doing, which I am sure everyone understands.
Thank you.

More again! I guess there is nothing we can do to stop these people from infiltrating our hobby Forums.

Sure there is. It's just a matter of figuring out what works and what doesn't.

I'm not going to go into too much detail, but along with the new anti-spam script that makes it much harder for a bot to join, now all posts from new users are also scanned for spam.

That should pretty much end it.
