Default Greeting from the Green Swamp

Hello all,

I recently purchased a 2002 Ranger and am happy to find this Forum.

I am a geologist and have a farm in the Green Swamp of central Florida. Since I'm a native Floridian and grew up on the farm, I am passionate about all of natural Florida.

So, I wanted a light truck to go about the farm and the woods. Used seemed best, given my plans, and Rangers rate well in the reviews I read.

I usually take our Doberman with me. He's not too keen on riding in the truck so far (in the extended cab), but he loves running around the pasture. He's not so sure about the cows and horses, though.

The truck came with a bed liner and no other add ons. I have added some Lloyds Rubber Tite Mats, front and back (great!) and a cargo net. I'm considering window tinting and some seat covers. My wife is concerned this is just another money sink - in addition to the girl in college, the dog, the house, etc.

As to other interests, I am keen on knives and firearms; although the other money sinks are taking priority these days.

I am a Vietnam veteran - USN, Gulf of Tonkin Yacht Club, Class of '72.

I love walking (see signature quote), and I'm surprised I can't eat as much as I could at 20 and not gain weight.

Thanks for creating a great Forum. I looking forward to learning as we go.

Welcome to FRF from TN! Nice to have Vietnam vet on the site, and a Kierkegaard fan as well!

Welcome from an old retired ARMY grunt. Search the site, look for some free mods you can do, some are real cheap stuff from your local salvage yard. I've found some good things for the Ranger on www.autoanything.com
