Default Cry of help from the Ranger in Spain

Please someone help me,
I need to register my 1996 US Ford Ranger XLT 2.3 4 cyl petrol in Spain. I bought new projector headlights so I could overcome the fact that they drive on the opposite side to England (where it was originally imported to when I bought it)
The problem I have is that I need European conforming headlights not the flat beam that US cars have.
Can anyone tell me what other cars are compatible with the 1996 Ranger? I thought I saw somewhere that Mazda trucks were compatible.
Please please help as I need to legalise my truck asap
Many Many thanks
Glen

Welcome To FRF

So you can't have the factory 96 headlights go back on your truck to pass?

As far as headlights go, only the Ranger lights will swap in. What is required to have them "European legal"?

I'm clueless. But while you're there do some fishing for me in the reservoirs. I used to go with my dad and we'd fish in the reservoirs for some massive northern pike.

Unfortunately I can't have the standard lights, I still have the originals and the projectors I bought that I thought would be ok for over here (I moved from England to Spain).
The problem is the type of beam - the European beams either point left (mainland Europe) or right (England & UK) due to which side of the road you have to drive on. The Amercian beam is a flat straight forward beam that doesn't point either left or right.
Help!!!!, I need my truck legal

Is there no adjusters on the light to aim them left or right? I know on my (stock) lights they can be adjusted to either side?

The projectors can be adjusted (this is why I bought them as I thought they would overcome the problem).
However the problem is the beam - Europeans have a beam that if drawn on paper if you were looking down on the beam from above would look like a square with a right angled triangle on the end, where as an american beam would just simply be a square.
This is doing my head in, why are things so complicated!!!
Is there a manufacturer that uses the same headlights as a 96 Ford Ranger? If there is I can find a European version of this light and fit that?

strange....aren't all "american" vehicles headlight beams aimed slightly to the right ? i never heard of american vehicles having "straight ahead flat beams" I don't think Glen knows what he is talking about. But, what do I know, i'm 43 and have been driving for 26 years.
BTW Welcome to FRF, Glen!

I think he may be referring to the cut off pattern on the projector. Most I've seen have been a pretty flat line with a slight zig-zag in them, but there are some European cars that have an angled cutoff, and that may be what he is looking for.

are you sure? i thought there are only adjusters for up and down on 01-2010 headlights...according to the how-to for aiming them.

You adjust left to right with the lower inside (toward the grill) screw that goes through the retainer. Most of the time you leave this one alone, which is probably why it's not included in the how to.
