hi guys i got my first ranger it is a 2011 4x4 sport w/4.0.. i am wanting to get hp out of it.. if it is gonna get shitty mpg it might as well have some power right.. what are some quick easy upgrades i should do????

The 4.0 not have enough power for you? It has 207hp and 238 lb/ft which is enough to tow around 6,000lbs.

There isn't really any cheap upgrades to any of the ranger engines, but you can start out by taking your air silencer our of your air box to make it a custom CAI.

If you want to get noticeable performance out of it get a supercharger or chip it.

You can also regear to 4.10s which might help it feel torquier.

Well I've heard mixed reviews on tuners... So I think I'll opt out on that.. I ordered a k&n air charger which I hope will help on the throttle response while towing my boat... And the super charger is to much $$$ for what I use it for .. Shouldn't the air charger and maybe exhaust later help some though????

Almost as bad as my bass boat forum .... U research something and the members are split right down the middle on every topic... So the k&n wool do nothing according to half... Others say: better throttle response, better sound,power, mpg ??????????
