Rough idle couple months, changed fuel filter, Air Filter, Bosch Platinum plugs from NAPA, cleaned PC, replaced a vapor canistor valve, finally stumbled across elbow hose with hole, taped it up with waterproof plastic tape and solves that problem at last. Wish I had started here because the "sticky" would have saved much time and expense. Thanks for interest in asking!
Soon after it now it has a strange new noise, hard to pinpoint, but stops when I kill motor and coast. Rev engine it just goes faster, not louder. Pulled serpentine and found bad tensioner bearing and replaced. Still there. Pulled passenger valve cover, All looks OK except timing chain tensioner is orange plastic like split fingers. A chip of orange plastic was off to side in the oil on top. Is the split supposed to be enclosed? May have to check driver side next to see any differences. Only 130K miles and well maintained. Did drive from San Diego to Maine, then came back a year ago OK. Also will take camera and grab audio next time. Also tried Risilone to see if improved lubrication would make a difference and no help there. I quit using it because noise gets louder the more I run it vs start and idle. I want to figure this out before do damage. Chilton's not a lot of help.
