Default The "New Guy"

Hey guys glad to be a part of this forum. Im not new to Rangers I am working on my second one. I was a 4wd owner but ive hopped the fence to a 2wd. Its plain jane but ive not put that much money into it yet. I would like to drop it. But since im new to this i dont know crap about it. So this is for you dropped ranger owners. What is the best coil spring and shock absorber combination to get a decent handling truck along with lowering its stance a few inches?

Welcome djm sells a 4/5 drop kit springs up front for a 2 inch drop a flip kit in the rear for two inches in the rear. You can also flip the shackles for another 2-3 inch drop, in the rear You can also use lowering control arms in the front to lower int 2 more inches in the front.

You want to handle? I can make you handle.

Get the DJM arm, heck the whole DJM 4/5 kit. Get a rear sway bar for the back, .625" is large enough, you don't want to go too big here. Upgrade the front bar to 1.25", Beltech makes a nice piece, then set your front camber to -1*, and get some good gas charged shocks. I like KYB gas-A-just shocks personally, but there are many good options out there.

If you don't want to go 4/5", then just get yourself some 2-3" lowering springs for the front, and do an axle flip out back, with longer shackles. The rest applies. You may need a slightly larger bar out back if you only go 3", like .75". Think a BII sway bar.
