So I decided to join the forum after reading for a couple hours on improving gas mileage... Living in Socal the speed limits are 65 (80 in Florida where I'm from originally). I never really thought that there was a huge difference in mileage per tank if you change driving habits from 65mph down to 55mph . . . That sounds like my problem - heavy lead foot syndrome - so I am hopeful I will gain some patience and be able to put the theory to test.
I have a '99 Ranger, barebones model everything stock except the sound system. It has (had) rubber floors, the crappy split 60/40 seat, 5 spd 4cyl DOHC (plugs are a bitch to get to, too. Had to mostly remove the intake manifold/throttle body to fit my fat hands in there for those back two).
Nothing special going on here (yet). I have a lot of stuff I want to do to it.
