Default Hello from South Dakota

Just dropping a note to introduce myself.
It's well below zero degrees here right now, so I guess my 90 Ranger Supercab project is going to sit in the snow for a few months.
I had just got done replacing all the dented metal and busted grill on the red truck in my photo album,

http://www.fordrangerforum.com/membe...+supercab.html

with the parts from the white sacrificial truck, and then about a week later I overheated the 2.9 due to a bad thermostat, and either blew a head gasket, or cracked a head (won't know till I get her undressed).
I don't have any pictures of the truck as it sits now, but it does look really good with the cab painted white to match the rest of the body I just put on, and the interior of the truck is like new (everything works - from the power windows to the 4 wheel drive).
The engine has 240,000 miles on it, so I am considering dropping a fresh 5.0 in her.
How difficult would that be?
I am a Manufacturing Engineer with access to a full machine shop if I need to design/build anything.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Looking forward to showing the progress on this project as I go.

Best Regards,

Lenny

Welcome to FRF!

Sounds like a good project! One project I always had in the back of my head was a Gen I Ranger with a 5.0 in it.

Welcome to FRF, you may be better off posting your 5.0 questions in the V8 forum.
