Newbie from S. FL NSMK377
I just bought a clean looking 2001 Ranger XLT single cab 3.0 liter with a 5 speed automatic transmission & a 7' long bed. The only options the truck came with was A/C & some sturdy aluminum mag wheels with 235-65-17 tires. The rims & tires make the truck sit up high enough that most people think it's a 4x4.
The only work I've done so far was trans. svc,radiator flush (inc. 50/50 coolant),replace plugs with single platinum plugs,new paper filter & change oil with 5-20 Mobil One EP along with a 15k Mobil One oil filter. Don't hate me yet but i'm a gear head except I have always been partial to Chevy 350 or stroked versions of them. My only gripe on my truck is I can't get either gas milage or any type feeling of power. All I have read so far (performance-wise) is very scarce or expensive. I'm not whining-I am hoping to LEARN some tips on this popular truck. Oh yeah, 101k miles & 377 gear. Sorry to be so long winded-I just wanted to be thorough Thanks in advance
