Hello Jon

Wow I also just bought an '02 Edge with 84,000 AND was about to ask the same question. I'm hoping it's the typical U-shaped plastic connectors but I haven't crawled under to look yet. I'm also un-clear on how to relieve the pressure before beginning - I've read that I have to pull a fuse and run the truck til it stalls...I hope there's a better way.

welcome

it is very simple to replace. dont even need a tool. just compress the clips and the hose will pull off.

relieve fuel pressure by pulling fuel pump fuse and statrt engine and let die

Just squeeze the clips hard enough until they come off. And do like STL said just unplug the fuel pump from under the glove box and start it & let it run until it dies. You will still probably get some gas all over you until the filter empties out. I made the mistake of wasting 8 dollars on the fuel line disconnect tool that didn't even work.
