New to Ranger suspension
I recently joined the used Ford Ranger club with the purchase of a 1996 XLT, 4x4, standard tranny 4.0 V6. The right front coil spring bracket is badly corroded and I hope to replace it. I found several older threads on this site describing similar issues but with older Rangers ('92 & '94). The part number I need is F57Z-5A306-B for the '96 version. I contacted Ford USA and found out the part is considered "obsolete" and they show no left over inventory within the Ford dealer system. I'm hoping this Forum can help point me to a "fix".

Re: New to Ranger suspension
The junk yard is looking better all the time. I've been burning up the Internet trying to find an OEM part with no luck. I found a thread from several years back that suggested this part was still available from Ford at that time. Maybe Ford sold them to China to generate some cash when the recession started. The bucket is riveted to the frame and the fix seems to be to grind out the five rivets and bolt the replacement onto the frame with grade 8 bolts.

Re: New to Ranger suspension
Welcome to the site. I took a look on my end to see if it was something that we could get for you. I don't have a source for them either. Might be kind of a tough part to get.

Re: New to Ranger suspension
Thanks Tony for looking for this coil spring bracket. Since it is so difficult to find, I'm surprised aftermarket types aren't fabricating the piece. I'm bookmarked 1AAuto for the future.
