Hi fellow Rangers
I have a 2004, 4 l, 4 x 4 with automatic transmission.
I'm very thrilled with this trucks ability. What I was searching for was technical data for my truck.
I then came across this forum - a friendly family.
I have experienced a problem that the truck get stuck to the 4 x 4 setting. Personally I think it is only an electonic/electrical problem.
Previously it got stuck in the Low range, then I send it back to the place I bought it from, who claimed that they had to change electrical parts. Its definiltely not a mechanical problem.
I would like to know if it OK to drive it like this - when it is stuck in 4 x 4 high for example, on the tar road. I did drive it for approximately 300 km, then it mechanical disengaged itself at some stage, while driving.
Where would one find all the technical detail of this 2004 4l auto 4x4 model. Including stuff like oil specs for the engin, diff and gearbox, timing belt change intervals and does it have a on board computer, what effect can this computor have on the above problem.
Are there others "Rangers" out there with similar problem?
Thank you.
Best wishes for everyone for a blessed Christmas
