Spec stage II clutch. Pressure plate is made by Luk....just about ALL pressure plates for this application are made by Luk. Stock trucks right off the production line have Luk discs and p-plates. Luk's are great clutches....for a stock application.

I tell you the major issue....it's a piss poor slave cyl design from ford. The line isn't at fault...there ain't much to go wrong with it period. Stupid part designed and manufactured by the frenchies.

I don't really have problems on my '04... maybe that's because I'm used to driving my IX, which has the worst transmission in the world coupled with way too much torque and a racing clutch.

You may not have any problems with the '04 right now.....but you could tomorrow. It's literally a ticking time bomb. Could start to show symptoms over the course of a couple months then it's not driveable. Or it could just go like BAM! Right then and there. Tickin' timebomb. gotta love it.

I was thinking about this the other day. How many 4wd vs 2wd Rangers have slave problems. As I recall I have only seen 4wd Rangers have this problem often.

the slave cylinder is leaking inside the tranny and the only reason I can think of is when I put the new one in, my pressure plate had become warped and may have busted the new slave cylinder. but thanks for everyone's input.
