First Ranger -First Post
Hello from Michigan!
My name is Dan and I just bought a 1999 Ford Ranger Extended Cab 4x4 automatic with 153k miles and still running strong! I spent most of my working years working for Ford's cross-town competitor, General Motors. Since GM has broken the loyalty bond with me by forcing me into an early retirement, I feel no remorse in buying this Ranger and look forward to many more good miles down the road together. Looking through some of the threads, this looks to be a great and helpful forum. Thanks, Dan

Interesting day today, another Michigan member joined a few hours ago who worked at Ford for 20 years... funny how you both join the same day but welcome to the forum! Any plans for the Ranger?

Re: First Ranger -First Post
To All Ranger enthusiasts, Hi my name is Gimpy . In November 2009 I bought a "99" standard cab, long bed V6 XL Ranger. Very clean in and out with 49000 plus miles. I have owned F-150s ine the past. My father and sister and I each purchased 1975 F-150 supercabs. There was a special sale advertised a a local dealership. $2850 for each. What a deal! I worked as a mechanic for the RR and have always maintained our vehicles to ensure saftey and longevity. I will say that I was not always fond of the size of the Ranger but I now am comfotable with driving this one. The economy was a factor in buying this truck. I find that it really has a lot going for it. I am very pleased with it . I have looked here at the forum a couple of times and did use the advice regarding the "door ajar" remedy. I think this ia a cool site and look forward to using it to help me with some issues that will arrise and will also be glad to share some advice whem I can.

Re: First Ranger -First Post
Hello fellow Ranger enthusiasts
1st time Ranger owner this year. So far so good. Not the greatest in computer use but willing to give it a shot to connect with other Ranger owners about this and that. I joined out of frustration of trying to locate custom parts so I hope this will be a worthwhile adventure. As nice as Rangers are, I am surprised there aren't more custom parts available, unless there are and my computer handicap is keeping me from finding them. Hoping to find some knowledge and help.
Thanks,
RL

Re: First Ranger -First Post
Hello from INDIANA(46970)
I've always owned Honda civics, preludes, and most recent a Toyota celica. im proud to say i just traded my celica for a 96 3.0 5-speed. wish it was 4x4 but its not. im having a few "new to me" car problems.
First and i think most important:
while sitting at a stop light it'll overheat but once i start going it'll immediately drop back down to normal temp. i've heard a few things it could be like headgasket, bad fan, clogged radiator, etc. i dont know where to begin on this fix. im not looking to dump alot of money in for repairs if it could be something really simple.
help please!
